It has been 31 years since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, 15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, and two years since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. With the evolution of technology, disaster digital archives are now at a major turning point. Traditionally, archives have primarily functioned as a stock to preserve events that occurred “long-term” for the future. Now, with the use of satellite images and 3D technology, they are beginning to be used as a flow of information that contributes in “real time” to communication such as reporting, support, and recovery activities immediately after a disaster occurs…
